Tropical Kiss from Holguín

In Holguín, you don’t need to go far for a taste of authentic Cuban life. Catamarans are waiting in the port to whisk you away to the very best snorkeling spots and Jeeps are always ready to lead you into the jungles of Cuba’s most adrenaline-filled destination. The water in Holguín is really blue, the sand white and the rum is as delicious as people say.  It’s hard to understand why Christopher Columbus, who first set foot in Holguín province in October 1492, ever left this place.

There are three regions that make up the resort area: Guardalavaca, Esmeralda and Playa Pesquero. On your way there, you’ll pass by banana plantations and travel over rolling hills once home to sugar cane fields. Sharing the road with other travelers and locals, don’t be surprised if you pass by mopeds, modern tour buses and horse-drawn carriages called coches de caballo.

The resort area of Holguín offers a tropical kiss from the Caribbean Sea and keeps couples and families equally happy with a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Be sure to head to Guardalavaca Beach, where you can kick back in the shade of a mango tree and take a short stroll to a sand-floored bar for a cocktail.

Each year from March-September, hawksbill, green and giant leatherback sea turtles haul their huge bodies onto sandy beaches up and down the Caribbean, with nesting peaking in April-June – and hatchlings emerging a couple of months later.

It is a common knowledge that the Cuban sea is excellent. The high degree of conservation of its coral formations and powder white clean beaches.  The coral rocks are perfect for scavenging for conch shells, and about seven miles to the north you’ll find the small Spanish colonial town of Trinidad, where the cobblestone streets and buildings have been preserved from the 1800s. Today, Trinidad is one of Cuba’s major tourist destinations. But a major tourist destination in Cuba does not look like one elsewhere in the world; there are a few people with cameras wandering around, but mostly it feels like a serene country town that happens to be uncommonly lovely.

Like elsewhere in the Caribbean, this coast is super laid-back, temperate, and teeming with wildlife. Activities, lodging, and just about everything else are cheaper here than on other part of Caribbean islands . Whether it’s a remote turtle sanctuary, a tour of an old cacao farm or a wild all-night party that a traveler seeks, the Caribbean comes through. And in a country known for uninspired fare, the Caribbean side is the big exception: think whole fried snapper with a side of coconut rice and fried plantains, washed down with delicious ginger juice. КУБИНСКОЕ ПОБЕРЕЖЬЕ КАРИБСКОГО МОРЯ

Провинция Ольгин (Holguin) лежит на северо-востоке острова Куба и является одним из самых известных курортных направлений в стране, вторым по значению после Варадеро. Говорят, именно здесь, неподалеку от Плая Дон Лино, в 1492 году высадился Христофор Колумб и сделал запись в судовом журнале, что эта земля – самая красивая из всех, какие он когда-либо видел. Здесь расположены одни из самых красивых пляжей Кубы, самые известные из которых – Гвардалавака, Плайя-Эсмеральда и Плайя-Пескеро.

Местные отели утопают в тропической зелени, здесь находится множество пещер, рек, гор, водопадов и природных источников. Из отелей можно отправиться на экскурсию на соседние маленькие острова, например, остров Игуаны, исторический центр Сантьяго или небольшой пиратский городок Тринидад, сохранивший свое великолепие и пропитанный духом «морских разбойников.

Море поражает своим цветом! Вода абсолютно прозрачная, песок как мука, не нагревается. Богат подводный мир – в океанских водах плавают пятнистые акулы, серые рифовые акулы, барракуды, китовые акулы, скаты Манта, порхают рыбы-бабочки, груперы, по дну ползают черепахи. Каждый год с марта по сентябрь, зеленые гигантские морские черепахи вытаскивают свои огромные тела на песчаные пляжи вверх и вниз по Карибскому морю, и гнездятся в апреле-июне, а маленькие черепашки вылупляются пару месяцев спустя.

Если вы планируете поездку на Кубу, стоит быть готовым к воистину сказочным впечатлениям. Загадочные развалины бывших французских кофейных плантаций, неподражаемое великолепие бывших колониальных городов, удивительные контрасты разнообразнейшей природы и более 4 000 островков с потрясающими тропическими ландшафтами. У берегов острова – красивые коралловые рифы, где водятся необычные рыбы, бродят крабы, плавают скаты и другие подводные обитатели. Много кораблей затонуло здесь, поэтому до сих пор туристы находят под океанской толщей интересные вещи.

Куба – остров свободы и текилы, жгучий коктейль из жаркого тропического солнца, зажигательных латино-американских танцев, бескрайних плантаций сахарного тростника и пламенных речей команданте Фиделя Кастро. На Кубу нужно ехать с настроением и желанием получить море эмоций, быть открытым к новым приключениям и не забывать, что главная прелесть в богатстве природы и доброжелательности местных.
