Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out. Read more…

Christmas Gift-Wrapping

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. Around Christmas time people are happier, kinder, more helpful and more loving. This is what Christmas is all about. It’s about being a better and more kinder person. If I have learned anything, it’s that people won’t be in your life forever, so you have to enjoy the time you get to spend with them while you can. Summer picnics get all the glory but as autumn-loving, we prefer this colourful season for eating outside. Just because there’s a chill in the air, doesn’t mean you have to stay inside. There are lots of activities traditionally associated with late spring and summer that can still be enjoyable in cooler weather. Read more…

Apple picking is, and has seemingly always been, a quintessential fall activity – a total must. What better way to enjoy a fall day than getting the family out of the house and into the country. Besides, is there anything more delicious than taking a bite from a perfectly succulent apple plucked right from the tree? I certainly don’t think so. Read more…

Where would we be without love? A Valentine’s Day celebration can be as simple as a little heart-shaped candy containing the message “Be Mine” or as dramatic as a proposal for marriage. No matter what the day brings, it’s a day to celebrate love, the most powerful force on the planet.

Christmas is coming. Every year, everyone celebrates this special holiday season. This is not just for kids, but also for the whole family. It is the time for love, happiness and forgiveness. I love Christmas. Decorating the tree. Picking out special gifts to give to my loved ones. Listening to holiday themed songs on the radio. Watching heart warming films such as ”Home Alone”, ”It’s a Wonderful Life” and cartoons like ”Frosty the Snowman”. I love the twinkling lights. The celebration of Christmas makes me happy. My son Mikhaël was born 4 years ago, October 5… Having a child is a total miracle. Worries of how you’ll perform as a parent are overwhelmed as you look into their eyes and you know it’s going to be OK. Kids call you to a higher level of living.

Birthday GAL

Sometimes people get sad around their birthdays because they feel time is going by quickly and they’ve not achieved much in life. This mostly happens when you are in your late 20s or early 30s. We become very critical of how we’ve led our lives as compared to others around us. Most times these are baseless worries. Because we are humans, we fall into the trap of analyzing and self-deprecating. While such introspection is natural, it is not really necessary particularly if it borders on negativity. We will achieve what we’re meant to achieve in due course of time. So if it is something like that, hang in there, keep doing your best and things will happen. Read more…

Having a pet is usually a rite of childhood. Whether it is a bunny or gold fish, a dog, cat or horse, children enjoy the companionship offered by animals. Did you know, however, that not only can pets be a source of warm, fuzzy entertainment, but they can offer several developmental benefits to children as well? A child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development can all be encouraged by interaction with the family pet. Most children love animals and at some point they desire to have a pet of their own. Now, before you say, “no way are we getting a pet!” there are actually some major benefits that pets provide for children.

Green Smoothies

Hello Everyone! Today, I would like to speak with you about our healthy life. 🙂 I love a lot smoothies. I find that smoothies let you consume a lot more fruit than you usually would during a sitting, which means that even if you’re not adding sweeteners like honey or agave, you’ll still be getting a good deal of sugar. Green smoothies are not only a unique colour but they also offer unique health benefits. Made with leafy greens that are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, green smoothies are an excellent way to enjoy a delicious drink that satisfies hunger and offers maximum nutrition. Read more…

My mom always told me my freckles were “sun kisses.” We all have cells in our skin called melanocytes. These specialized cells are designed to protect us from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. They do so by producing a pigmented protein called melanin. Melanin acts like a pair of sunglasses for your skin by making it darker. In many people, these melanocytes are spread out evenly throughout the body, but in others they are not. They get bunched up together, resulting in freckles. Read more…

Mother’s Day

IMG_1739

Saying Happy Mother’s day, it is about truly letting our moms know how much they are appreciated and cared for.Without moms where would we be as a society? It is safe to say that our society would be significantly smaller, colder and more ill-mannered. It is our mom that teaches us how to nurture and how to love. It is through her guidance that we as individuals learn how to be empathetic and sympathetic to those around us. How many times have you been in a public place and seen a child get hurt and 3 or 4 moms run to the aid of that child. Obviously they are all not the child’s mother, but there is a need there… a willingness to make sure those around them are alright. Read more…

Soul Revolution

It is hard to find the balance in life which is key to everything; to live in harmony with yourself and confidence in the future. Every day we are balancing on the precipice ready to break at any moment and at that very moment it is so important to have someone who will always support and  will tell you the right way… and if there is no one to be there for you, we just fall down nowhere. What helps you to stay afloat? What feeds your ideas and goals every day and makes you keep going forward? Certainly, Love. Of course, Family and Friends, that make your life filled with emotions; and yet we are encouraged by the love of self-esteem and development. Read more…

Who doesn’t like to shop? Buying new things is fun — except for when it takes so much time that it becomes more of a chore than a pleasure. I enjoy online shopping for more than 5 years already, and I started to enjoy it even more since I became a mom. Every parent will agree with me that it is a torture to go shopping with a kid. You do not really see anything because you need to watch your child!  Nowadays, more people than ever before in history are using the WEB to shop for a wide variety of items, from houses to shoes to airplane tickets. For a while, I didn’t understand that happiness is something you create and responsible for. I did not know how to create my own happiness and thoughts without being worried about everything.  Honestly, all my life I am in rush… in rush of living, in rush of eating, in rush of doing many things at the same time.  I always worry about everything, and this is part of my character that I am fighting with. Sometimes I hear from my friends, who do not have kids – how do I find time for everything, and why I am still looking good? It took me a while to understand these principals! Read more…

Canada is remarkable immigrant diversity. Everyone can find here a proper place, as I did as well with my family. Read more…
