Gold Brush

For centuries, artists and artisans have turned to gold leaf as a way to make their creations shimmer and shine. Evident in everything from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces, the glistening gold accents can add an ethereal touch to any work of art.

Gold leaf is gold that has been hammered into extremely fine sheets (about 0.1 micrometre, or 4 millionths of an inch, thick) and it is the most sensitive material in the art. The process of pounding solid gold into a thin leaf is called goldbeating, and the act of using gold leaf to adorn a surface is called gilding.

If you have no experience gilding, using gold leaf in your own practice, the process may seem intimidating. Mainly because it is an extremely hard material to use, it lives its own life as soon as you remove it from the protecting surface and loses the stability flying everywhere. But it all worth it due to unique result you obtain at the end.

Each artwork becomes limited edition and sends you to another world.

“And suddenly you just know, it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.”
