Today, I am very excited to tell you about the whales excursion. If you ever have the chance to make it please do it! This is my 2nd excursion and it is an unbelievable experience! I had the opportunity to visit Rivière-du-Loup – a small city on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The maritime regions of Québec are home to some of the best whale-watching sites in the world. You are guaranteed an exciting experience. Between End of April and October, up to 13 species of cetaceans are found in the salty waters of the St. Lawrence, including blue whales, the largest animals on the planet, and impressive humpbacks, which swim up into the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord near Tadoussac to feed. In some places you can even watch them from the shore. I was so lucky to see humpbacks jumping out the water and when you see such giants playing it’s just out of breath!
Rivière-du-Loup, where the St. Lawrence begins to widen into the sea, is a popular place to observe whales. Take an advantage of your time here to go on an excursion to the islands in the St. Lawrence to see the Pot à l’Eau-de-Vie Lighthouse, explore the trails on Île aux Lièvres (Hare Island) and observe whales and seabirds.
Honestly, if you want to be closer to the whales and share great experience closer, book a trip on such small ”bateau” (boat).
Quebec is home for 43 traditional lighthouses since 1711, most of which stand along the coastline or on the province’s maritime islands. Proud witnesses of the past, today some 20 of these lighthouses are enjoying a second career thanks to one who transformed them into museums or inns.
It was a long day at the sea, and wow it worth it! Writing this post, I still have such great feelings and understand – it was not enough! I will come back soon there. Happy Friday Everyone!

Просто потрясающе! Честно говоря просто муражки пробирают от фото, где рядом с плещущимся китом люди сидят на надувной лодке😬

Thank you, Valerie. I think it depends where do you take such excursions, cause in Quebec it’s too cold for Dolphins and we have just whales here🌞🌷

That makes sense! Maybe it’s not as common to see whales in southern California. Oh well, better luck next time!
